Warstic TCL Player of the Week Will Stay in Acadiana for Nau

06/24/2013 1:14 PM -

Acadiana Cane Cutters' Catcher Mitchell Nau captures the weekly award for his June 18 through June 23 performances.

Each Monday the Texas Collegiate League and Warstic honor a position player and pitcher of the week. For the week of June 18 through the June 23 no league nominee could come close to outshining Acadiana backstop Mitchell Nau's offensive prowess.

Nau’s remarkable .500 average from the dish and .850 slugging percentage over the past week made him a no-doubt catalyst for the Cane Cutters’ strong team play. The Texas A&M Aggie sophomore started every game this week behind the plate, accumulating a hefty ten hits in his twenty at-bats, raking five extra-base knocks (including a solo blast), three runs batted in, four free passes, and two swiped bags.

For his entire body of work so far in 2013, Nau is the owner of a .386 batting average, while tallying eleven runs scored, six RBIs, seven walks, and three stolen bases to his summer ledger.
