 The Acadiana Cane Cutters squared-off against the Texas Marshals in the finale of a two-game series at Fabacher Field on Sunday night. 

University of New Mexico hurler Victor Sanchez was given the nod in the finale of this weekend’s two-game set against the visiting Texas Marshals.  Hits were in a surplus for the Cane Cutters, as they were able to get 11 base knocks on the night.  Acadiana struck first when Michel Nau was pushed over by a Logan Taylor double and then scored on a Marshal error.  Texas was able to take the lead away scoring two in the 2^nd, but then Nau struck again in the 4^th when he delivered on a two RBI single. Back and forth they went, as the Marshals were able to scratch three runs across in the seventh giving them a 6-5 advantage. The Acadiana bats were able to rally in the bottom of the frame, scoring on a fielder’s choice by Chance Vincent, and another RBI by left fielder Jordie Hein. Then in the 8^th inning Ryan Deemes, who currently holds the record for saves in a season, camein for the two inning save.  Deemes pitched two straight 3-up 3-down innings, striking out 3 Texas batters, to give the Cane Cutters the 7-6 victory and the series sweep.

The Acadiana Cane Cutters take Monday off before hosting the Victoria Generals to Fabacher Field this Tuesday and Wednesday.
