Texas A&M University catcher Mitchell Nau takes home his second Warstic TCL Player of the Week Award of 2013.

Acadiana Cane Cutters’ backstop Mitchell Nau has not only been a solid contributor in 2013, he has been among the Texas Collegiate League’s elite. On Monday, the league announced that Nau would take home his second Warstic TCL Player of the Week Award for his remarkable performances from July 30 through August 4.

The sophomore Aggie started in all six Cutters’ contests this week, hitting for a brilliant .520 average at the dish, getting on base over 53% of his at bats, and slugging a ridiculous .960. Nau registered seven extra base knocks (2 big flies), nine RBIs, seven runs scored, and even found some spare time to add 2 stolen bases for show.

With just four games remaining on the 2013 regular season schedule, Nau has appeared in 45 total games and touts a .337 batting average on the year. He is the owner of 20 extra base hits, 6 home runs, 33 RBIs, 32 runs scored, and 9 stolen bases. Also impressive is his 20:19 walk to strikeout ratio.
