The 2013 regular season is coming to a close as the entire Texas Collegiate League will play their final pair of acts Thursday and Friday before the top four teams enter tournament play to determine this summer’s best.

The Brazos Valley Bombers and Victoria Generals have earned seeds one and two respectively by finishing in that order after the league’s first half of play concluded. The two top seeds will host round one of the playoffs in a best of one series against the Acadiana Cane Cutters and the East Texas Pump Jacks; the three and four seed entries.

Acadiana clinched the third seed in the postseason and will travel to face the Victoria Generals in Victoria on Saturday night, August 10. Depending upon the outcome of the Cutters’ game and the Brazos Valley/East Texas first-round matchup, there are a variety of scenarios to look forward to. Of course if Acadiana falls in Victoria Saturday night in a best of one, the offseason comes early. If the Cane Cutters prevail, the team will host at least one game at Fabacher Field during the TCL Championship Series - a best of three.

The top seed in the Championship will enjoy home field advantage and host the final two games of the series. This means that, if Acadiana defeats Victoria and Brazos Valley handles East Texas, Acadiana will host game one of the Championship giving the one seed Brazos Valley Bombers the final two games in Bryan, Texas. If the Canes beat the Generals and the ‘Jacks upset the Bombers Saturday night, then, as the better seed, Acadiana will be on the road at Kilgore to face East Texas Sunday, then host games two and three at Fabacher on Monday and Tuesday night.

Both round one matchups are scheduled for Saturday, August 10 at 7:00 PM with the TCL Championship Series being penned in for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, August 11 through 13.
