CANE CUTTERES SET TO END REGULAR SEASON WITH A ‘BLAST’

While the Acadian Cane Cutters are closing in on a playoff berth, fans who attend the last two regular season games on August 5th and 6th vs. the Woodlands Strykers can expect to witness much more than high caliber baseball, according to team officials. The Cane Cutters, who have played in front of some of their largest home crowds in team history the past couple of weeks, expect these remaining two games to be loaded with top-notch promotions.

 

The game on August 5 will feature a “Take A Nine Inning Vacation” theme, powered by the Hampton Inn and Suites. One fan at this game will win a four night stay at a gorgeous condominium in Destin, FL. Fans will also have the opportunity to win other prizes from places such as the Hampton, Vermilionville, Children’s Museum of Acadiana, Kart Ranch as well as many others. There is also scheduled to be a C&G Boats postgame fireworks show, and the Lafayette Karate club will provide pregame entertainment that night.

 

The following game the next day, Fan Appreciation Night, the first 100 fans will get a rally towel courtesy of the Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission. Furthermore, there will be a silent auction where fans can bid on certain C&G Boats jerseys that the Cane Cutters players wore several times this season. In addition, it is also “Pirates and Princesses” night, with Play and Learn With Me providing a Cinderella, Elsa, Anna and a Pirate. Fans are encouraged to dress up as princesses and pirates as one princess will be selected to have a brief coronation ceremony. After the game, and the jersey presentation, all fans will have the opportunity to run the bases courtesy of Azteca’s.

 

Both game slated to start at 7:00 with gates opening at 6:00.

 

The Cane Cutters will close out the 2014 regular season on the road August 7 and 8 vs. the East Texas Pump Jacks. The first round of the playoffs is set for Saturday, August 9. Should the Cane Cutters clinch a postseason spot, and win that day, they would be back home to host the first game of the championship on August 10.
