Cane Cutters Hire New General Manager The Acadiana Cane Cutters are proud to announce the addition of a new General Manager, Richard Haifley. Richard comes to the ball club from the Victoria Generals, where he served as the Director of Marketing and Communications. He had spent two seasons with the Generals, while also serving as Color Commentator for the Corpus Christi Ice Rays Hockey Team. Originally from Houston, TX, Haifley graduated with a BS in Mass Communications from Stephen F. Austin State University. This is his first GM role, as he looks to bring his marketing/broadcasting experience and passion for baseball to the Cane Cutters. Team owner Richard Chalmers said "We are excited to have Richard join the organization. He has a couple of years in the TCL, promoting just the type of atmosphere that we are establishing here at the Cane Cutters. We look forward to an even better season for 2015, as we plan to be THE place to be in Acadiana in the summer." The summer collegiate baseball team will be entering its fifth year and is part of the Texas Collegiate League.
