The Hampton provides first class accommodations to all five of the other teams, when they travel to the Lafayette area to play the Cane Cutters. Additionally, the Hampton also provides a special discounted rate to friends and family of the Cane Cutters. The Hampton will continue to host numerous team events such as press conferences and socials.

Cane Cutters general manager Richard Haifley stated, “We strive to provide quality entertainment and a fun filled experience; not only at our ballpark, but throughout their stay. With their exceptional facility and service, the Hampton certainly aids in that mission. They are a great partner for the Cane Cutters.”

Lonny Landry returns for 5th season as head coach.

The Acadiana Cane Cutters have announced that head coach Lonny Landry will return for his 5th season. Last year, Landry led the Cane Cutters to a 31-24 overall record and a third place finish in the regular season. The Cane Cutters are 118-110 since their inaugural season under Landry. “We are excited that Coach Lonny will be returning for his 5th year. Through his relationships with coaches in top rated programs, we have continued to recruit outstanding players.”

Landry, a native of St. Martinville, LA, is currently the head coach at Ascension Episcopal. Previously, he headed the Teurlings Catholic program, and led them to appearances in the State Finals, State Semi-Finals and State Quarter Finals. A graduate of University of Louisiana at Lafayette, he played at Flagler College (FL) and also in the Detroit Tigers’ minor league system.

“I am really grateful that (team owners) Richard and Sandi Chalmers have asked me once again to lead the Cane Cutters for another season,” Landry said. “I am really looking forward to our upcoming season and excited about the talent that we have coming to Acadiana this summer. Our great Cane Cutter fans and our wonderful host families provide these college players from within the state and from across the country a tremendous experience of Cajun hospitality.”
