Can't Win Them All

06/03/2015 6:15 AM -
The Acadiana Cane Cutters traveled into The Woodlands to take on the Strykers for a 2 game series.

The Cutters would turn to pitcher Jared Taylor to help keep the winning streak alive. However, his adversary Trevor Sims would prove to be a challenge for the Acadiana Boys.

Adam Yacek would get things rolling as he drove in Braedon Barrett to take a 1-0 lead in the first.

However, the lead would be short lived as Taylor ran into trouble. The Strykers would tack on 2 runs in the 2nd and 2 more in the 3rd.

Braedon Barrett’s patience at the plate would send him to first to start the 5th inning. Barrett would be driven in by a loud line drive up the middle from James Ziegler.

Barrett’s run producing night wasn’t over as he would come into score again in the 7th off of Yacek 2nd RBI of the night.

Heading into the bottom of the 7th with a 4-3 deficit, Coach Landry would call on Pitcher Dane Lovejoy.

Lovejoy would have trouble finding the strike zone as he walked 6 batters and gave up 3 runs.

Heading into the 9th trailing 7-3, the Cane Cutters would make it interesting.

Taylor Braley would come into score, but it wouldn’t be enough, as the Cane Cutters lose by a score of 7-4.

The Cane Cutters will wrap up game 2 tomorrow night as they look to move to 4-1 on the season.

They will return home Saturday June 6th against the Generals. Game 2 of the series will be played on a Duhon’s Slippery Sunday. All kids can take turns on the Water Slide for FREE from 6-7pm. June 7th is also Star Wars night! All fans are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Star Wars characters and take picture with members of the 501st.
