The Cane Cutters won the 1st game in their 2 game series against the Texas Marshalls.

 
The Texas Marshalls put up 3 runs early in the 1st inning as they took the lead over your Cane Cutters.
 
Leiff Clarkson (Western Kentucky University) scored the 1st run for your Cane Cutters and cut the score to 3-1 in the 3rd inning.
 
Zak Kutsulis (Notre dame) singled in 2 runs the next inning as Tucker (Nicholls State University) and Cummings (University of South Alabama) scored to tie the game.
 
In the bottom of the 5th inning Daniel Keating (University of Southern Mississippi) got 2 RBI’s on a single and the Cane Cutters took the lead 5-3.
 
Jared Taylor (University of New Orleans) pitched a good game obtaining the win for your Cane Cutters allowing 3 runs, walking 2, and striking out 4 Marshalls.
Seth Jordan pitched for the Marshalls and took the loss surrendering 11 hits, allowing 5 runs, walking 1, while striking out 4.
 
Scott Szush (Southeastern Louisiana University) got the save pitching a scoreless 9th inning while striking out 1 batter.
 
The Cane Cutters are now 9-5 on the season.
