Cane Cutters Add Two Southern Miss Players
Cane Cutters have added Isaac Rodriguez and Austin Roussel to their roster for the 2012 baseball season.
The 5’10” junior infielder, Isaac Rodriguez, will make a nice addition to the Cane Cutters. He is in the top 5 on his team in several statistical categories. His batting average is .314, good for third on the team, slugging percentage is .356, fifth in that category, and on base percentage is .374, fourth on the team.
He is also fifth on the team in hits with 37 for the year. He has played in 38 of the 47 games this year and has started in 32 of them, 31 of them being at second base. The Cane Cutters will look for him to provide a steady bat this year.
The second player from the Golden Eagles that is joining the Cane Cutters is 6’1” 196 pound catcher Austin Roussel. He is a redshirt freshman that has played in 26 games, starting in 13 of them. He has been one of the players to look at coming off of the bench with his batting average at .351.
Roussel has really shined in conference play this year for the Golden Eagles. He has played in 11 of the 18 games, starting 7 of them. He is batting .457 and slugging .600.
The Cane Cutters look forward to having these two players on their team for the 2012 season.
