Jam Williams, Cutters beat Marshals 2-1 in walk-off fashion

07/21/2016 11:14 PM - The Acadiana Cane Cutters beat the Texas Marshals, 2-1 on a walk-off fashion in the bottom of the 9th inning for their third win in a row. It was a pitcher's duel between Kaleb Roper from the University of Arizona and Danny Garrett from the Marshals. Joey Pecararo broke a scoreless tie in the top of the third when hit a homerun to left field which gave the Marshals an early 1-0 lead. Acadiana got on the board in the last of the sixth on a bases loaded infield single from Trey Jimmerson from Texas A&M which tied the game at 1. The game remained tied at 1 until the bottom of the ninth when Jam Williams from UL hit a sharp single down the third base line scoring Matthew Guidry from Southern Mississippi giving the Cutters a 2-1 win in walk-off fashion. Acadiana wins their third in a row and goes to 3-0 under new Head Coach Luke Montz. The Cane Cutters will continue their home stand as they'll take on the Victoria Generals tomorrow night for the first game of a two-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. It is 103.7-The Game's Ron Guidry Bobblehead night powered by Service Chevrolet. The first 400 paid ticket holders will receive a Ron Guidry Bobblehead.
