The Cane Cutters (2-4) lose their second consecutive game to the Brazos Valley Bombers (5-1) to get swept in the series.  The Cane Cutters were able to put some runs on the board early, but then struggled the rest of the game.  They went down by the score of 10-4, putting up seven hits and four errors.

Ben Suit (0-1) appeared in his first game for the Cane Cutters and got off to a rough start.  He pitched three and one-third innings, giving up three hits, four earned runs, and walking four.  Ryan Bergeron also made his first appearance of the season and pitched two and two-thirds innings, giving up one hit, three earned runs, and walking four.  Merrick Ardoin came in the game for his third relief appearance, pitching two innings, giving up two hits, three earned runs, walking one and striking out four.

The Cane Cutters were led by Ladd Rhodes (3-4, 1 run) and Alex Marse (2-4, 1 run) offensively.  For the second straight game, the Cane Cutters were able to get on base, but were not able to get them home with eleven runners left on base.

Mitchell Nau, from Texas A&M University, joined the Cane Cutters and made his first appearance of the season.

The Cane Cutters look to regroup at home for a two-game homestand against the Alexandria Aces this Friday and Saturday at Fabacher Field.  They are 2-0 against the Aces this season and look to continue their success against them.  Join us Friday night for the game and stay for the fireworks display right after. We will also have a surprise giveaway during Saturday’s game. We cannot wait to see you there!
