Offense Has Superpowers on Superhero Night

07/01/2017 10:50 PM -

Handsome Monica (ULL) led the attack with a 4-for-6 performance that included a double, three runs scored and three runs batted in. In an unusual turn of events, Monica had two multiple hit innings in the fourth and sixth. The Cane Cutters hit around in both innings, scoring eight runs both times. In the fourth, Trenton Trosclair (Southeastern Louisiana) kept his hot streak going with a two run double after the Generals jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Monica would later add a 2-run double later in the inning as the Cane Cutters would lead 8-2 by the time the third out was recorded. Monica would add an RBI single as well as a second single in the sixth as Acadiana would put another eight runs on the board to put the game out of reach at 16-2. In addition to Monica and Trosclair, Jonathan Artigues (Tulane) and Daniel Lahare (ULL) also finished with multiple hit games.

Handsome and the rest of the Cane Cutters will celebrate the Fourth of July with a Color Guard and flag ceremony prior to the game tomorrow, July 2nd, as they will host the Generals once again for their final game leading up to the All-Star Break. Gates will open at 6pm and first pitch is scheduled for 7pm. For more information and ticket needs call the Cane Cutters front office at (337) 451-6582 or go to canecuttersbaseball.com.
