Cane Cutters snag 3 from Southeastern Youngsville, LA (March 14th, 2018) The Acadiana Cane Cutters are pleased to announce that we will have three players join us this season from Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU). Joining our roster for the first time this year are Jace Nini, Trey Harrington, and Preston Faulkner. P Jace Nini (junior)- From Terrytown, LA was a three-time All-District performer at Shaw High School. His first two years of college he played for Delgado Community College. His freshman year he struck out 60 batters in 74.1 innings. In his sophomore year he made 12 appearances, earning a team-leading 11 starts. Also, led the team in wins and innings pitched for the second straight season. In Summer 2017 he led his summer league team to the AAABA Championship. INF Harrington (freshman)- From Lakeland, TN, was awarded Perfect Game Underclass All-American while playing at Briarcrest Christian High School. Also, he received All-State baseball honors and was runner up for Tennessee’s Mr. Baseball award. In his senior year, he batted .491 with 8 homeruns. Util Faulkner (freshman)- From Denham Springs, LA is making his college debut with SLU this Spring. Faulkner has appeared in 9 games and has a batting average of .200. Come cheer on the Cane Cutters as they work to reach the TCL Championship for the 4th consecutive season.
