05/31/2018 10:17 PM -

YOUNGSVILLE, La.- The Acadiana Cane Cutters earn the win in the season home-opener against the Texarkana Twins, Thursday night at Fabacher Field.

The Cutters rallied back in the bottom of the ninth inning to record an 8-7 win.

They struck first in the second inning with a run but the Twins answered by combining four runs in the third and fourth innings, and later extending their lead in the seventh for a score of 6-1.

The Cutters began to rally in the eighth by scoring two runs but left the bases loaded.  They came back in the ninth by scoring five runs thanks to the Powerade Player of the Game, Blake Nethery (Blinn College). Nethery produced a 2-RBI single to tie the game. The catcher, Rhett McCall (Lamar) also had a great performance tonight going 3-4 and scoring two runs.

The Cane Cutters will continue the series against the Texarkana Twins tomorrow night at Fabacher Field at 7 PM.
