TEXARKANA, Tx (June 8, 2018)- The Cane Cutters dropped the first game of the series against the Texarkana Twins at Dobson Field. The Twins rallied back from an early Cane Cutters lead to end the game with a score of 9-6.

The Cutters put the first run on the board in the top of the first inning and reclaiming the lead in the second after the Twins tied the game in the bottom of the first. The Twins added another run in the bottom of the second, but the Cutters would extend their lead with a run in the fourth. However, the Twins got ahead with three runs in the bottom of that same inning.

By the end of the fifth inning, the Twins lead the game 8-4. The Cane Cutters put two more runs up in the sixth with a clutch RBI line drive to left field off the bat of Chaney Dodge (Northwestern State). But that was the end of the offensive charge from the Cutters as the Twins would score another in the seventh.

Evan Daigle (Northwestern State) closed the game out on the mound for the Cane Cutters with a solid eighth inning. He had two strikeouts and allowed no runs or hits.
