Cane Cutters Dominate Bombers in Series Sweep

BRYAN, Texas (July 7, 2018)- The Acadiana Cane Cutters took the away series against the Brazos Valley Bombers with a 10-4 win.

Starting pitcher Matthew Beck (LSU) threw five scoreless frames and struck out eight before Alex Nelms (Southern Miss) relieved him in the sixth inning. Nelms delivered six strikeouts in the three innings.

The Cutters began their offensive attack with two runs in the first off, an RBI single from Mason Corbett (Texas A&M). They added another run in the second after an error by the catcher advanced Trey Harrington (SE Louisiana) to third. Harrington then scored on a sacrifice from Cole Secrest (Lamar University).

After three scoreless innings, the Cane Cutters continued to be hot at the plate with two runs in the sixth, three runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth.

The Cutters will be back at Fabacher Field again Sunday (7/8) against the Marshals.  It will be MLB Apparel Night! Anyone who wears MLB gear gets in at the discounted price of $5.
