Streak Ends with Close Loss on the Road

TEXARKANA, Texas (July 10, 2018)- All good things must come to an end. The Acadiana Cane Cutters fell 3-1 to the Texarkana Twins at George Dobson Field to end an 11-game winning streak.

Chandler Morris (Texas A&M) drew a walk on a 10 pitch at-bat in the sixth inning. With bases loaded and no outs, the Cutters’ only run of the night came off the bat of Nathan Gabryszwski (Lamar University) which scored second baseman Mason Corbett (Texas A&M). The Cutters loaded the bases again in the eighth but could not manage any more runs.

Sean Tweedy (University of Southern Mississippi) entered the game in the fifth inning to relieve the starting pitcher. He threw 3.1 scoreless frames retiring the Twins in order during the three innings he completed.

The Cutters will be back at Fabacher Field again Thursday (7/12) against the Brazos Valley Bombers. It will be LSU Night! Anyone wearing Purple & Gold gets in for the discounted price of $5! Draft beer will also be $1 all game long as it is Thirsty Thursday!
