Doubleheader Split in Texarkana

TEXARKANA, Texas (July 14, 2018)- The Acadiana Cane Cutters split the doubleheader against the Texarkana Twins at George Dobson Field with a 17-10 win in game one, but they dropped game two by a score of 6-0.

The Cane Cutters got to work early in Game One with two runs in the first inning on an RBI double by Rhett McCall (Lamar University). Chandler Morris (Texas A&M) added three runs in the second with another RBI double. Preston Faulkner recorded his first home run of the summer in the third inning with a runner on base. Morris then drove in Nathan Miranda for run number eight.

 Three more Cane Cutters scored in the fourth off RBI doubles from Faulkner and Kyle Bayles. Trey Harrington added to the lead with a grand slam in the fifth inning, recording his second home run of the season. Morris continued the hitting spree with an RBI triple in the sixth and was driven in on a sacrifice hit by McCall, who continues to lead the Texas Collegiate League in batting average.

The Cutters will be back at Fabacher Field again Wednesday (7/18) against the Brazos Valley Bombers. It will be Like A Boss Night! Bosses from around the Acadiana area will be honored at the game!
