Cane Cutters Win Against McKinney Marshals
The Cane Cutters went to McKinney Texas to play the Marshals on the road, after splitting a double header at home this week. The Marshals scored first on a  homerun by Dixon. No more scoring took place until the 5th inning when the Canes broke out.  Braxton Lee got on with an error by the third baseman, and Mike Barba got on base with a single. Isaac Rodriguez walked to first, and then Lee scores when Ladd Rhodes hits into a fielders choice. Gabe Woods and Austin Roussel followed suit with singles, and Rodriguez scores. Marse stays on the roll with a single¸ and Rhodes scores. So Canes got 4 runs on 4 hits and left 2 on base. In the bottom of the 5th the Marshalls got 3 hits as well, and but only scored one of the runners.
In the top of the 6th inning, the Cane Cutters kept the roll going, with Lee leading off with a single, followed by Rhodes, and Woods, scoring another 2 runs. As the Marshals came up to bat, they starting hitting as well, and got 4 hits, but converted only 2 of those to runs. In the 7th Marse, Thornell, and Marse got on base. Ladd Rhodes pounded a double, and scored three runs. During the 8th and 9th innings, no runs were scored, and the final score was 11-4 Cane Cutters.
Sam Malchar was the winning pitcher for the Canes handling the first 5 innings  win Sunday. On Monday, July 23 the Cane Cutters return, and we will be celebrating our Military Appreciation Night. All past and present military staff, their spouse, and their children will be able to buy a ticket for $2 each. It is also Coke Monday, so all children under 10 get in free with a Coke . We will also have fireworks to celebrate the occasion sponsored by C&G Boats, so come on out and help us honor the military.
This Friday, we will have Warren Morris night at Fabacher. LSU star, Warren Morris – who hit, one of the most memorable home runs in baseball history, a walk-off home run to win the College World Series for LSU in 1996, will throw the first pitch and will be on hand during the game. All participants wearing LSU purple-and-gold Wednesday night will receive $1 off ticket prices. It is also Fiery Friday, sponsored by C&G Boats.
