Canes Sweep Marshals winning 10-2

The Cane Cutters swept the Marshals this round, finishing up their final regular season home game 10-2. Andrew Richardson of ULM was the winning pitcher for the Cane Cutters, pitching 6 innings, allowing 1 run, 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Offensively the Cane Cutters had Tyler Kamtz UNM at 2 for 3, Alex Marse, Braxton Lee, and Mike Barba at 2 for 5, Brett Thornell and Adam Seal at 1 for 3, and Gabe Woods and Austin Roussel at 1 for 4.
 
The Cane Cutters scored early getting 3 runs in the first inning, and Barba got a double in the third inning, with Braxton Lee hitting him in, adding another run to the scoreboard. In the 6th inning the Marshals got three hits, and were successful at bringing in one run, when Touchet came home on a double by KJ Alexander. The Cane Cutters answered in the bottom of the 6th, getting 2 more runs on hits by Woods, and a walk by Nau that scored when Thornell hit a sacrifice fly. Andrew Richardson retired and Ben Suit came in, and the Marshals scored a run on a triple by Logan Brumley, when he came in when Todd grounded out.
 
The Cane Cutters answered with two runs of their own. Two more runs in the 8th inning would finalize the score for the Cane Cutters, securing the win.
 
This was the final regular season home game for the Cane Cutters, and we are still fighting to make the playoffs. Stay tuned to see how it comes out, and we might get a playoff game at Fabacher Field. Thanks Acadiana for all of your support of our Cane Cutter team this year!
