Cane Cutters Fall to the Bombers on the Road

Lafayette, La. – The Acadiana Cane Cutters lose on the road tonight against the Brazos Valley Bombers 2-8. Acadiana struggled to get going in this game against the Bombers and will look to bounce back against the Rougarou tomorrow. The Cane Cutters will be heading back home after a 2-game road trip for a game against the Baton Rouge Rougarou at Fabacher Field.  

 

The Cane Cutters had their struggles at the plate tonight, but there were a few bright spots in tonight’s game. Michael Latulas (Southern Miss) was able to help the Cane Cutters tonight with 1 hit for an RBI against the Brazos Valley Bombers. Will Veillion (UL) also had an RBI on the night on a double. Nathan Carriere (Lamar University) and his fellow teammate, Jack Schell (Lamar University), were each able to score a run for Acadiana in tonight’s game.

 

While the Cane Cutters struggled on defense at times in tonight’s game, a couple of Acadiana pitchers were able to put on solid performances against the Bombers. Will Tynes (Southern Miss) had 5 strikeouts in tonight’s game, bringing his total count to 39 strikeouts on the season. Tynes only gave up 1 run and 2 hits through 4 innings. Cole Payne (Temple College) pitched 2 strikeouts through 3 innings and also gave up 1 run and 2 hits. Acadiana will look to turn things around in tomorrow’s game against the Baton Rouge Rougarou at Fabacher Field.

 

The Acadiana Cane Cutters will play again at home at Fabacher Field on July 29th to play against the Baton Rouge Rougarou on First Responder Night powered by Tabasco.
