Lafayette, La.- Now that the roster is complete, the Cane Cutters will attempt to repeat winning the Texas Collegiate league title for the first time in program history. Players from four different states will play at Fabacher Field this summer with the goal of growing as a man on and off the field.

Players will get the opportunity to showcase their talents and potentially prove that they belong at Division I level. Coming from Ruston, Louisiana, freshman pitcher Haydan Toal and freshman infielder Grant Comeaux will represent the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. Toal was the No. 2 ranked pitcher in the state of Louisiana and set a Tioga high school record with 120 strikeouts as a senior. Comeaux was a two-time state champion at Barbe high school.

Freshman infielder Lee Amedee will represent the Ragin’ Cajuns. Amedee, a product of St. Amant high school, was a First Team Class 5A All-State selection and played in 17 games this past season for ULL. Returning to his hometown of Lafayette, Louisiana, freshman right-handed pitcher J.C. Acosta will represent the Northwestern State Demons. Acosta played at Teurlings Catholic high school and went 6-0 as a senior with a 1.75 ERA.

Sophomore outfielder Emil Estrella and sophomore right-handed pitcher Miles Justin attend Bossier Parish Community College in Bossier City, Louisiana. Estrella played in 55 games this past season with a .389 batting average, 10 home runs and 58 RBIs. Jusin appeared in 10 games last season for the Cavaliers with a 3-2 record and fired 14 strikeouts in 22.2 innings.

Right-handed pitcher Grant Fontenot will also be returning to his hometown of Lafayette. Fontenot is a freshman at McLennan Community College and slung 37 strikeouts in 30.2 innings with a 3-0 record. He also held opponents to a meager .208 batting average.
