Your Cane Cutters are playing at Riverside Stadium in Victoria, Texas for the North vs. South TCL All-Star Game.


The 3 Cane Cutter starters include James Ziegler (Chandler Gilbert Community College) in left field, Zak Kutsulis (Notre Dame) in center field, and Adam Yacek (Miami of Ohio) at shortstop for the South. Ziegler is batting .341 with 3 HR’s and 21 RBI’s for the season. Kutsulis is hitting .366 with 17 runs scored and Yacek has 19 RBI’s at the halfway mark of the season.


Kutsulis started off the bottom of the 1st inning with the 1st base hit for the South and was stranded on base. Ziegler also got his own single in the 3rd inning, but unfortunately no runs were scored.


Daniel Martinez (University of New Orleans) threw a scoreless 2nd inning, while earing 1 strikeout.


The North scored the 1st 2 runs of the ballgame, advancing on a wild pitch and getting an RBI single from Jimmy Norris in the 4th inning.


Scott Szush (Southeastern University) threw 1 scoreless innings and recorded 1 strikeout.


Yacek hit a sacrifice pop fly to center field in the 7th inning for the 1st run for the South, cutting the North’s lead to 3-1.


The North beat the South 4-1, but the Cane Cutters made their presence felt getting 4 of the 8 hits for the South and the only 2 walks issued to the South were to Ziegler and Yacek. Furthermore, Yacek had the lone RBI for the South.


The Cane Cutters, led by their 5 all-stars, will be back on the road against the Brazos Valley Bombers on Thursday. The Cutters return home on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 to face the East Texas Pump Jacks. This game will feature our Science and Fiesta Night presented by El Sabor. We will have a telescope on site from the Lafayette Science Museum and Bricks 4 Kidz will be bringing a robot to display. Fiesta Night will feature chicken fajitas margaritas/Mexican beer specials and Latino music.
