After a rain delay pushed the Acadiana Cane Cutters first away game back one day, Acadiana won the first game of a seven-inning doubleheader against the Victory Generals 6-1.

After a slow start to the first game, the Generals put the first run on the board at the bottom of the third.

The Cane Cutters responded with four runs at the top of the fifth and added two more at the top of the sixth.

The Cane Cutters went 13 for 33 at bat and five different Cane Cutters recorded an RBI. Kiefer Moore led the team in runs with two.

Acadiana’s pitcher Daniel Goff of Nicholls State was credited with the win with a 1.80 ERA.

The win put the Cane Cutters at 3-0 to start the season with a 30-minute break before starting the second game.
