The Acadiana Cane Cutters defeated the Texas Marshals 8-5 on Thursday to take the second game of a four game series.

It took a little while for the Cane Cutters offense to get going, and after being down 2-0 going into the bottom of the fourth, Acadiana finally put a run on the board, with four more in the fifth.

Texas was able to score three runs in the seventh, tying the game at five, but a score in the seventh and two in the eight proved too much for the Marshals and Acadiana improved to 22-8 on the season.

Cobie Vance, out of Alabama had an outstanding night, hitting all four of his four at bat and garnering four RBI’s and bringing two runs in.

Acadiana will return to Fabacher Field tomorrow night at 7 p.m. to try to take the series.
