Cane Cutters Win Second Game against Pump Jacks to Split the Series

The Cane Cutters (6-5) got a great win by the score of 10-7 against the Pump Jacks (8-3) in a game that was a battle.  The Cane Cutters were able to capitalize on their seven hits and the nine errors put up by the Pump Jacks.

The Cane Cutters got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI triple by Mitchell Nau that scored Mike Barba.  They added another run before the end of the inning when Adam Seal hit a sacrifice fly to score Mitchell Nau from third base.  The Pump Jacks responded in the top of the fourth to tie the game.  The Cane Cutters answered right back in the bottom of the inning to go up by one when Tyler Kamtz came into score.  Once again, the Pump Jacks scored in the top of the fifth inning to tie the ballgame before the Cane Cutters were able to take hold of the lead in the bottom of the fifth and never relinquished it for the rest of the game.

The Cane Cutters were led by Isaac Rodriguez (2-3, 2 runs,), Mitchell Nau (2-5, 2 runs, 1 RBI), Adam Seal (1-1, 2 runs, 2 RBIs, 3 BBs), and Gabe Woods (2-5).  Rodriguez, Nau and Braxton Lee all have extended their hitting streaks to five games each.

Kaleb Manual (3-0) started his third game for the Cane Cutters and got his third win of the season.  He pitched five innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits and five walks while striking out three.  Kelby Langston, making his fifth appearance of the season, pitched the final four innings, giving up three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out three.  Manual is leading the TCL in wins.

The Cane Cutters will now go on the road for six games where they will play their first road game at Driller Park against the Pump Jacks in Kilgore, TX at 7:05 pm.
