The Cane Cutters came out strong in the first game against the McKinney Marshals .  Sean Kennel started on the mound for the Cutters, and the Marshals came out hitting first, with 3 hits and 2 runs in the first.  The Canes answered with a single by Isaac Rodriguez, followed by a single by Adam Seal to score Rodriguez.  In the next inning Marshals' Talamante singles and Braston singles, scoring him, bringing the score to 3-1 Marshals.

The Cane Cutters bats got hot, and Ladd Rhodes (Southeast LA)  led off with a single, Tyler Kamtz (Univ. of New Mexico) hit the next single, scoring Rhodes.  Alex Marse (Southeast LA) singled, and then Isaac Rodriguez (Southern Miss) hits a sacrifice fly to score Kamtz, bringing the score to 3-3.

In the third, the Marshals went 3 up 3 down, and moved a bunch of players defensively.  Mitch Nau (Texas A&M) led off with a single and Adam Seal (Nicholls) got on with a fielder's choice.   Rhodes singled, scoring Seal, and then got put out for out number 3.

The Marshals picked up 2 runs on 2 hits in the 6th, and the Cane Cutters couldn't score off of their hit. In the 7th the Cane Cutters were able to tie the score, when Marse walked  and his pinch runner,  Braxton Lee (Pearl River CC) ran home on a wild pitch.   So the game went to an extra inning, where the Marshals couldn't score, but the Cane Cutters scored when Gabe Woods (Meridian CC) got on with a single, and Mike Barba (Nicholls) hit a double, scoring Woods' pinch runner, Vandervere, winning the game.

Bark in the Park Night brought out many dogs, from miniature dachshunds to Great Danes. Three contestants entered the weenie dog race, and Lucy Trahan was the clear winner, with her prize a Cane Cutter All Stars autographed wooden bat.

GAME 2

In the second game, the Canes could not keep the advantage.  In the first inning the Marshals went 3 up 3 down, and the Cane Cutters started with a single by Rodriguez, who was then left on as the next three batters hit into Marshals gloves.  In the Marshals' second at bat, Talamantes got on base on an error,  and Shuetz  singled, and Talamantes scored as Toth was thrown out for out two.

In the bottom of the second,  the Cane Cutter bats were hot as Almann Snowden (ULL) singled, followed by Andrew Brown's(Texas A&M) single.  Almann scored , and Brown was left on, bringing the score to 1-1.  In the 4th inning, Zac Person (LSUE) struggled on the mound, and the Marshals loaded the bases and scored  3 runs.  Scott  Shimp (Henderson St.)  came in and struck out Dixon for the third out.

In the sixth inning, Braston singled to get on base for the Marshals, and dashes home on an error by the pitcher to score before Bolcerek was thrown out in a run down from first to second.  The Cane Cutters answered when returning Inaugural season all star Brett Thornell (SFA) got a single, followed by Mitchell Nau getting on base on an error.  Rhodes hit into a fielder's choice, advancing Thornell to third, and while Snowden was at bat, Thornell scored on a wild pitch.  Two men were left on base.

In the last inning, Andrew Richardson (ULM) came in to close for Shimp, and the Marshals went 3 up 3 down, with the last two batters striking out.  The Cane Cutters couldn't get it going to cut the deficit, and the single by Marse was the only offensive note in the final inning.  So the Canes lost 5-2 in game two.
