Cane Cutters Find Their Way Back Into The Win Column
Lafayette, La.- The Acadiana Cane Cutters are finally back in the win column with an impressive 10-2 win over the Seguin River Monsters at home on Monday. The Cane Cutters offense, putting up 14 hits and 12 runs, were on fire throughout the entirety of the game. Lee Amedee, an incoming sophomore for the UL Ragin Cajuns, and Justin Williams, an incoming senior for the LA Tech Bulldogs, led the game off with 2 singles each, which lit a fire that was not going to be extinguished anytime soon. Peyton Lejeune, an incoming senior for the UL Ragin Cajuns, led the offense with a single, a double, 2 walks, an RBI, and scoring 3 runs of his own. Gavin Leblanc, an incoming junior for the Mississippi College Choctaws, set the pace on the mound for the Cane Cutters putting up 4 strikeouts and only allowing one run through his 5 inning outing. The Cane Cutters are now 12-18 and hold the sole 4th place spot in the TCL. With this impressive showing by the pitching staff and an offense that put on an impeccable performance, things are looking promising for the Cane Cutters as they wind down the regular season and, hopefully, enter postseason play. The Cane Cutters will be back in action on Tuesday, July 11th with first pitch at 7 pm.
