The Acadiana Cane Cutters (11-18) lose game one and have game two suspended due to weather against the Baton Rouge Rougarou (14-13). The Cane Cutters are in 3rd place in the Louisiana division with a 1-4 2nd half record and sit one game back of 2nd place Baton Rouge Rougarou with a 2-3 2nd half record in the standings.

In game one, both teams were scoreless through the first three innings until the Rougarou broke the tie in the bottom of the 4th inning with a solo home run from Parker Coley (2) off Cane Cutters starter Konnor Graham. Rougarou currently lead the TCL with homers as a team with eight. Cane Cutters would come right back in the top of the 5th inning, taking advantage of an error committed by second baseman Drake Varnado of the Rougarou, driving in two off the bat of Hank Howard with his league-leading tenth double of the season.

Rougarou would answer right back in the bottom half scoring 3 times. After a sac fly, Peyton Wood drove in a run with an RBI single, knocking Konnor Graham out of the game. Caleb Muffoletto came in for Graham and struggled to locate, walking 3 batters, one coming into score. Down 4-2, back came the Cane Cutters in the top of the 6th inning keeping their foot on the offensive gas pedal scoring four times on four straight RBI base hits off Rougarou reliever Payton Cooper, taking the lead 6-4.

Rougarou would chip away from the Cane Cutters bullpen, scoring one run in the bottom of the 6th inning with another sacrifice fly off Caleb Menard, before tying in the bottom of the 7th inning with an RBI double by Mason Ruiz off Noah Melancon. We went to extra innings where Bryce Calloway tried to keep the game tied in the bottom of the 10th inning but was also struggling to find the zone, hitting a batter and walking 3 batters on the night. The last one being a bases loaded walk to Josh Shelly, having the Cane Cutters fall in extras 7-6. Parker Gwyn and Connor O’Neal both made their debuts for the Cane Cutters.
