07/08/2022 9:47 PM -

Lafayette, La. – The Acadiana Cane Cutters lose at home against the Brazos Valley Bombers 5-1 to start their 2-game series. The Cutters led for almost the whole game, but a tough 7th inning was too much for them to overcome.

The Cane Cutter’s struggled to put points on the board tonight as they only registered 1 run on 7 hits on the night. Kade Dupont (ULM) and Jacob Laprairie (Tulane) both led the way for the Cutters with both having 2 hits apiece. Logan McLeod (LA Tech) contributed on the night by driving in the Cutter’s only run on the night.

Despite a tough top of the 7th inning the Cane Cutters had a fairly good night on the mound tonight overall. Josh Mancuso, (Nicholls State) before the 7th inning he was excellent on the mound! He was in the middle of throwing a perfect game after 6 innings of play. On the night he still had an impressive performance only allowing 2 runs on 2 hits while striking out 7 batters in 6.1 innings pitched.

The Cane Cutters will face off against the Brazos Valley Bombers again tomorrow on July 9th! First pitch is set for 7pm at Fabacher Field in Youngsville, La. You can follow along with the game on Pointstreak or watch a live stream from TCL TV.
