Eight Cane Cutters Head to TCL All-Star Game07/02/2024 1:48 PM - Eight Cane Cutters to represent at TCL All-Star game Following the conclusion of the first half of the 2024 season, the Acadiana Cane Cutters will send their top talent to Seguin, TX for the TCL All-Star game. These eight players will represent Team Louisiana, teaming up with members of the Baton Rouge Rougarou and Lake Charles Gumbeaux Gators to take on Team Texas in a divisional faceoff. Three of Acadiana’s eight will see a spot in the starting lineup. Bryce Calloway will start first base and Dylan Biddick will start in the outfield. Hank Howard will serve as the designated hitter (DH) for Team Louisiana. There’s no doubt when it comes to their abilities: Biddick, Howard and Calloway hold the top batting averages on the Acadiana team. Biddick’s average of .350 leads the club and sits at No. 3 overall in the TCL. Howard (.313) and Calloway (.294) place at No. 8 and No. 14 respectively in the league. Keep an eye out for a few Cane Cutters on the mound. Noah Melancon and Caleb Menard will represent the Acadiana pitching staff at the All-Star game. Menard (1-1) holds a 3.17 ERA through his 22.2 innings and leads the team with 23 strikeouts issued. Melancon (2-0) has collected 16 K’s in his 16.0 innings of relief pitching, recording a 5.62 ERA. Other Cane Cutters that will be making the trip to “Smokey” Joe Williams Park include Tanner Sever (2B), Ashton Quiller (OF) and Bennett Mittelsteadt (OF). The TCL All-Star game will take place on Wednesday, July 3 with the first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. The game can be streamed live via TCL TV.
